All the fashionistas on earth know exactly where to go for top-notch collections from the latest fashion weeks. Milan's "Golden Triangle" has long ceased to be a secret of a circle. But what if, while enjoying the painting or sculpture, you feel no less enthusiastic than when buying new Gucci shoes. There is also the "Golden Triangle" in the art world. You can find it in the center of the Serbian city of Novi Sad. The Gallery of Matica Srpska, the Gallery of Fine Arts – Gift Collection of Rajko Mamuzić, and the Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection, one of the largest collections of Serbian art of the 20th century.

The excellent lawyer and diplomat Pavle Beljanski was, first of all, a renowned connoisseur and collector of art. He assembled the most complete collection of paintings by Serbian and Yugoslav artists of the 20th century. "Each of these pictures is a part of my life! Each of them went through my heart" – was his famous expression. Perhaps he would have remained just a great art lover for the whole world if he had not decided to immortalize his name on the doors of the state art museum.

In 1957, Pavle Beljanski presented this city with his "heart" – an impressive collection of paintings, sculptures, and tapestries. Already in 1961, the city reciprocated and presented its gift – a gallery for this collection. The building was designed by architect Ivo Kurtovich. The museum called the Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection was opened to the public on October 22, 1961.

The permanent exhibition consists of 20th-century Serbian artworks with a particular focus on the interwar period. All works are presented in chronological order: ranging from the first generation of modernists like Nadezda Petrovic, Petar Lubarda, Kosta Milicevic, and Sava Sumanovic to the masters of the second half of the last century, including the famous works of Zora Petrovic, Zhivko Stojsavljevic and Ljubica Sokic. In total, the collection comprises 185 works by 37 artists.
