The heritage, artistic and cultural life of an area can attract tourists and create better quality of life for those who live there.
An Italian student smashed a Greek sculpture at Milan’s Academy of Fine Arts of Brera after he hopped on its lap in order to capture that perfect selfie.
Every year on December 23, the Mexican state of Oaxaca presents the most impressive display of carved vegetables in the world.
With an area of only 3.5 square kilometers, the tiny island of land is inhabited by only three people and washed by the warm waters of the azure Mediterranean Sea. Besides, it is located one kilometer away from the lively cities of the wonderful island of Malta. Just like the picturesque shores of Comino attract adventurers today, sea pirates and robbers sought to possess them in the Middle Ages. According to ancient legends, there are undoubtedly treasure chests buried somewhere in Comino.
However, the main treasure of Comino, like many centuries ago, is its nature, marvelous seascapes, deep caves and grottoes, and, of course, the Blue Lagoon with the purest water. The quiet calm bay with a white sandy bottom has long attracted fans of beach holidays and wildlife lovers to the island. And although it first seems uninhabited, there is even a hotel built in 1960 and an ancient Catholic chapel, which has held masses since the 17th century.
It is best to sail to the fabulous island on the first fishing boat that departs from Malta at dawn: the sea is calm, and the waters are still cool. The beaches are almost deserted, there are a lot of free sun loungers, and the tan at this time will be as good and safe as possible. As soon as the sun rises, walk around the island or take a boat tour to the mysterious grottos and caves. In the evening, meet the sunset and then take a popular water taxi, or even better, stay on the island in one of the beautiful rooms of the Comino Hotel to once again see the sunrise over the horizon, illuminating the beautiful Blue Lagoon with amber rays.
It is never windy in this lovely and cozy nook. Thanks to the high cliffs in the bay, the sea is always calm. That makes the island of Comino and the Blue Lagoon an ideal place for family holidays.
