Located in one of Copenhagen's most multicultural districts, Superkilen City Park was created in an attempt to unite the citizens of the Danish capital with all other peoples living in Denmark, to call for unity and friendship of representatives of all religions, races, and nationalities, for tolerance and mutual respect.
The magnificent park with an area of almost 30 thousand square meters was laid out in the Copenhagen district, which is home to more than 60 different nationalities. And each of them had a chance to contribute to the development of Superkilen.
The park consists of three main zones. The modern recreation area called "Red Square" is painted in red and pink. It is a gathering place for the youth of Copenhagen and those who are backpacking across Europe. The so-called "Black Market" is intended for barbecue and family recreation. In addition, the "market" has a picturesque square with a delightful cool fountain, chosen by local mothers with babies. The third zone, the "Green Park", with its shade of age-old trees and colorful flowers and plants, is the perfect place for picnics, pet walking, and sports games.
The main feature of the park is unique items collected from all over the world. The star-shaped fountain was imported from Morocco, the swing was sent from the capital of Iraq, and the chess tables were brought specially for the park from the beautiful Balkan country, Bulgaria. Sports equipment from the United States, basketball hoops from Somalia, playgrounds from India and Japan... It seems that this unique Danish park has everything! There are even tables for the family picnic that belonged to the Armenian diaspora and a children's slide from Ukraine. Romanian stools, benches from Germany and Switzerland coexist peacefully on the Palestinian land. Three tons of soil came to the park from Palestine thanks to the idea of two girls who had never touched their native land before.
