On the western edge of the Vienna Woods, there is a small settlement of Perchtoldsdorf. This town was a favorite place of the Austrian nobility. People from all over the country went to the southern vicinity of the capital. Valleys and hills there are full of colorful villas. Legends of the fertility of the lands of the area were spread far beyond Austria. It is not surprising that vineyards in Perchtoldsdorf are some of the best in the entire country.

Even today, huge green plantations attract tourists. A small wine plant allows feeling the taste of the south of Austria. Annually, lovers of this beverage go to the wine festival, which is organized in November in honor of the harvest. During the whole week, a varied cultural program is held for guests. At the beginning of the previous decade, the festival was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

Every year on the Perchtoldsdorf wine plant, tours are arranged. During the tours, the process of wine production is explained in detail. You will see the production process itself, take a look at the cellar stocks of the beverage, learn everything about barrels, where the wine passes through the last stage of preparation; with your own eyes, you will see how one of the barrels is uncorked. In the end, you will go to a tasting room, where you will taste several tens of wine types.

With the Vienna Woods as a setting, against the background of the mountains, master-classes are given. You will be told everything about wine properties; you will learn how to choose the right glasses, snacks and the beverage itself, how to read labels and not get trapped by producers of a low-quality product. Moreover, you will get familiar with some professional secrets of tasters and see how to become a wine expert by demonstrating your expertise.

In the evening, live performances of musicians, artists and dancers are held on the main stage. Tables get covered with snacks and several wine types. The total number of red, white and rosé wines represented during the week is more than 200. The celebration ends with night fireworks.
