The park was made in Guadeloupe but is considered as a French nature reserve. On the territory of the National Park is located an active volcano Soufriere. It may erupt.
The volcano is the main peak of the island. Its height is 1467 meters. Though it is active, tourists are allowed to come there. Anyone can take a walk to the volcano with a guide.
Along the way, you may see various hot springs and cracks. The volcano does not have one crater. At its top, there are some fumaroles, which emit sulfur fumes and gases in a quiet time. The peak is hidden by a dense fog.
