Toa Maru Sunken Ship
Solomon Islands and surrounding
Unusual places
Unusual places

A long time ago, captains walked on a deck of that ship and gave orders to the sailors, who, in turn, tried to complete all the tasks and go to a cabin, where they could relax and drink a cup of sake. A long time ago, there were kept cannons, ammunition, and the sailors always took the rifles.

Now the body of a ship is covered with corals, and the corrosion and saltwater of the ocean have completely changed its look. Seventy years later, there can “walk” only a shark or other smaller fish, or a curious diver, attracted by the sunken ship “Toa Maru”.

Which secrets have the Japanese warship? Wear a scuba gear go find out!  But note that there will be a lot of people. The island of Guizot and its underwater treasures attract divers from all over the world.

The ship was sunk in 1943, and despite all the years underwater, it is well preserved. The “Toa Maru” body is almost undamaged. Ship masts are on its place, and only the part of the construction on the top had recently felt to the sand.

Keep your curiosity and emotions and dive a little further to take a photo of the entire ship. Despite the colorful corals adding an elegant shade, the outlines are still visible. Diving inside the ship, you feel fear and excitement mixed with curiosity. There is the feeling that an underwater monster is going to come from behind a wall.

But there are no monsters, just an incredibly colorful colony of corals. Time and the ocean turned a deadly ship to a beautiful coral garden with anemones, shrimps, black perch and other gold, red, blue fish.

It is likely that diving into the ocean close to the island of Guizot you will study the wonders of the underwater world and not the sunken battleship.
