Even though the name of Eskişehir means «old city» in Turkish, there are not that many old buildings on its territory. However, the small number of historical attractions is easily compensated by several unique city museums and a fabulous modern park which is located in its vicinity.

Famous Sazova Park was established in 2008. It became famous for its fairy-tale castle made in the style of Walter Disney and for a huge pirate ship. Now, it is popular both among adults and children. Apart from numerous attractions, which can take your breath away and make children happy, there are many interesting things which are connected with the rich and centuries-old history of Turkey. In the castle, where children's tours around the world of Disney are given, adults may get acquainted with the main monuments of Turkish architecture. Each tower of the multi-level castle with winding staircases represents a copy of a tower of one of the main country attractions: the Galata Tower, the Maiden’s Tower, a minaret of the great Yivli Minare Mosque and the world-known Topkapi Palace.

In addition, the huge 400 thousand square meters territory of the park houses a real railway station from which a small colorful train starts its route. In the park which is smothered in greenery, you can visit a zoo, an aquarium, a museum of the Turkic history of science, a museum of scientific experiments, a planetarium, an amphitheater and a fantastic exposition called «The Turkic World in Miniature». There you can see amazing models of old architectural monuments which were built by the Turkic peoples and the original copies of which can be found all over the world. For example, the Tomb of Ahmad Sanjar, Sultan Ahmed Mosque, Medina railway station, the Taj Mahal in Agra, the Ulugh Beg Madrasa in Samarkand and an old bridge in Mostar.
