In search of adventures, brave travelers are ready to go thousands of miles away. They want to dive into dangerous depths to enjoy the underwater beauty and its fantastic inhabitants: bizarre corals, hundreds of bright colorful fish, mysterious jellyfish and sharks – the most ancient and dangerous predators on Earth. There are not so many brave and fearless conquerors of the seabed, so people get envious of how many seas and oceans opened up to their curious gaze. People were envious until recent times, when in the very center of the vibrant capital of Indonesia, in Jakarta, there was set up a giant aquarium. Now, everyone can see all the beauty of the underwater world there without sinking to the seabed and risking their lives every minute.
Sea World Ancol was founded in 1980. It is considered the biggest aquarium in Southeast Asia. Every day, the company that owns the marine park makes more and more efforts to turn this popular tourist attraction into the largest aquarium in the world.
Currently, the whole area of the park consists of 19 marine aquariums, 9 aquariums with fresh water, and 4 outdoor pools, including a contact pool, where visitors can easily touch such fascinating creatures as starfish, turtles, and the favorites of all young guests – small sharks.
For large sharks, Sea World Ancol has a separate round pool. Here you can not only watch for different shark species but also see the process of feeding them. It becomes a real show with a huge number of spectators. Two professional divers descend into the aquarium to the hungry predators and feed them like harmless pets. The spectacle is especially popular among kids and teenagers.
There are more than 3500 marine inhabitants in the park, including numerous jellyfish, glowing in a darkened aquarium, and giant sea devils – mysteriously dancing manta rays.
