A fascinating journey to Brunei can only be compared to a magical Arabic fairy tale. Golden-domed mosques and majestic palaces, delightful landscaped parks, and colorful blooming gardens can be found everywhere. Everything here impresses with luxury and wealth, no matter what the hand of the great Sultan, a ruler and a happy father, touches. The current sultan Hassanal Bolkiah has twelve children: five brave princes and seven beautiful princesses. He is a loving father to his daughters and sons and an attentive person to the needs of other people's children. Therefore, it is not surprising that a huge number of amusement parks for children were built on the territory of the fairy-tale kingdom, including the world-famous Jerudong Park located in a small settlement of the same name.
The largest and most expensive park in Southeast Asia which cost $1 billion first opened its doors in 1994. Since then this bright and fantastic place has become a popular venue for all the country's important cultural events and celebrations of significant dates and events of the royal family.
In 1996 the legendary Michael Jackson gave his free concert there in honor of the 50th anniversary of sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, and then returned and gave the residents of this amazing country another concert on New Year’s Eve. In the same year, at the wedding of the charming Princess Rashida another music legend Whitney Houston performed in Jerudong Park, and Janet Jackson honored the birthday of another daughter of the sultan, Princess Hamida, with her show.
Every year the famous amusement park is visited by more than a million guests from all over the world. However, not only first-class rides and steep roller coasters are its main attractions. There you can always hope to meet members of the royal family, take part in an important event of Brunei or see amazing shows of world-class stars.
